We have had many enquiries about the addition of new views of Arunachala.

To clarify this matter we have prepared a list of the costs involved so that potential sponsors have an understanding of what is needed to add new cameras and maintain them.

Costs in USD for imported equipment:

High quality IP Camera $1100
Motorised zoom lens $600
Exterior enclosure & mount $250
Shipping $250

Total $2200 (Rs. 88,000)

 

Local costs (approx.) in Indian Rs. and (USD)

Indian import duty at 40% Rs. 33,000 ($850)
Other related costs Rs. 6,000 ($150)

Installation:

Cables & wiring etc. Rs. 12,000 ($300)
Protective security cage against theft, monkeys, etc. Rs. 4,000 ($100)
Backup battery power supply with inverter Rs. 12,000 ($300)
Admin. and Misc. charges Rs. 8,000 ($200)

Total Rs. 75,000 ($1900)

 

Ongoing monthly charges:

Broadband Rs. 1200/month ($30)
Location rental (if needed) Rs. 2500/month ($62.5)

$1,110 annual running costs - excluding service

If you, or your organization contribute the full amount we will be happy to install a camera with the view of your choice. If you would like to make a partial contribution we will select the most requested view and install a camera there when we have the funds available.
