Dear Subscribers,

During the past year we attempted to add a new view of Arunachala based in the center of Tiruvannamalai that looked past the Temple gopurams to Arunachala.

Although this was appreciated by our viewers,  the local Police authorities did not share our enthusiasm and asked us to stop both cameras from uploading images to the Internet.  For this reason Arunachala was offline for three months from May to July.  No reason was given and no law prevents the use of web cameras in India.  We did not, however think it wise to challenge the dictates of the Police. Finally we were allowed to remove the Camera in town and restart the original view in August.

In order to fund the new camera site we had created a subscriber system. This did not receive much response, however we would like to thank all those who did subscribe and contribute to Arunachala-live.

It has always been our goal to maintain Arunachala-live as a site free to all and with the removal of the town camera we are also removing the paid subscriber pages. There will no longer be any need to log in,  all pages are available. We do hope you will continue to support us through your contributions.
